Is a teaching hospital for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Manages a large Pediatric Nephrology department with established connections to other members in the Collaborative.
Farewell from a Dedicated Colleague
Thank you to all members of the Collaborative for a wonderful 3 years. It has been such a pleasure to meet and work with you on projects, meetings, working groups, and Learning Sessions. My heart is full knowing that there are so many care team members who dedicate their time, energy, and passion to diabetes care. As a person with diabetes, I thank you for doing such tedious work to make care for all people living with diabetes better. I will carry so many memories, lessons learned, and partnerships with me from my time with the Collaborative. I would love to stay in touch on LinkedIn or by email (hollyhardison21@gmail.com). Thank you to all who have made my time here so very meaningful.
With appreciation and heartfelt gratitude!
Holly Hardison
Annual Clinic Survey Proposal
We are collecting annual survey topic proposals now through Friday, May 2, 2025. These topics, coupled with the annual staffing and center demographic questions, allow us to better understand your center and to share insights in publications.
When sharing your topics, please limit them to no more than 8 questions. Questions should be multiple choice; ranking and metric tables are suggested; free text is discouraged. To submit your topics please email qi@t1dexchange.org and cc nrioles@t1dexcahnge.org and tbol@t1dexchange.org with your ideas.
QI Portal User Feature
The T1DX-QI Portal has been adding features and enhancements over the years to assist you in your QI work. As a result, we thought it would be a fitting time to revisit the T1DX-QI Portal User Feature. If you'd like to be spotlighted in your very own interview, please reach out to QI@t1dexchange.org and we can share the questions with you. And, as always, signing up for the portal is fast, easy, and can be done by following this link.
Name: Jerusha Owusu-Barnie
Site: SUNY Upstate University Hospital
What is your favorite feature in the QI Portal and why?
I really like the Improve feature where we can record and track our quality improvement projects. It is also great to see what quality improvement projects other centers are working on. This helps us gain new insights and build on what we currently have. Sharing is caring!
Practically speaking, which feature (in addition to the above) do you use most often and why?
I use the Dashboard most of the time to report on our center's metrics and see how we compare to other centers. I add those metrics to our monthly QI report and present at our internal monthly meetings with staff, so everyone sees areas we are doing great in and areas where we need to improve in terms of our QI efforts.
How does the QI Portal support your improvement efforts?
The QI portal serves as a platform which gives us insights in areas we are struggling with and areas we see improvements. We get to learn from other centers, collaborate and share data. It also helps us record and track our quality improvement projects. The library serves as a great resource to use to support our diabetes initiatives.
What do you dream the QI Portal could do that it doesn’t do currently?
I wish to see CGM data (Time in range, time <70, time <54, time >250 mg/dL, GMI and CV%), type 2 diabetes data, statin use and other quality indicators in the portal report.
