🆕New Feature in the QI Portal: Location Filter

The QI Team is excited to introduce a powerful new feature in the T1DX-QI Portal: the Location Filter. This new tool enables users to break down outcomes and metrics by the county where patients live, offering a more detailed view of patient data. With the location filter, you can:

      • View data for counties where your patients reside
      • Compare metrics across up to 10 counties at a time

How to Use the Location Filter:

      1. Navigate to the Reports Tab

      2. Select metric(s) of interest from left-hand side of the screen

      3. Click on the new health equity filter, "Location", at the top of the chart

        4. Scroll right to view the states where your patients reside

        5. Click on a state to reveal a dropdown of counties

        6. Select up to 10 counties — they will automatically populate in the chart for comparison

We hope you’ll explore the Location Filter and everything it has to offer!

        QI Portal Issue Report Form

We’ve developed a new Qualtrics Form to help centralize the reporting of bugs and data quality issues within the Portal. If you encounter a bug or notice a data issue, please use this form to let us know—we’ll work to resolve it as quickly as possible.

            Q&A Corner

There have been several newly asked questions on the internal member website. Please use this link to respond and see all questions.

            Name: Shideh Majidi, MD MSCS
            Clinic:
            Children’s National Hospital

Question: I am looking to develop a QI-manager level role in our department and get the job position approved by our hospital. I am wondering if 1) your hospitals or department have positions such as a “QI Program Manager” or 2) If you have someone in your department that was hired into a QI-specific position (ideally supervisor/manager role, but if not I would still be interested in the information). If you have either and are willing to share the job description your used for hiring, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

If you have copies of job descriptions that you can send, please send directly to Dr. Majidi at her email address smajidi4@childrensnational.org

            Name: Quiana Howard, MSN, RN-BC

            Clinic: University Hospitals

Question: We’re interested in learning how other hospitals are supporting clinician engagement with the Diabetes Tab in Epic. Given that it is a separate flowsheet used to collect data for the T1D collaborative, how are your teams encouraging or streamlining updates for patients with type 1 diabetes? Have you identified workflows, tools, or role-sharing approaches that have been effective?

Any insights, examples, or resources would be greatly appreciated, as we are eager to learn from the experiences of other institutions.
