New Questions:
Question:
For the pediatric centers: Currently at Cook the diabetes educators take any urgent call from Friday at 5pm-Monday at 8am and will also do inpatient education for newly diagnosed patients. I am trying to change the call portion and wanted to see if anyone had information I can benchmark from. Who is responsible for your weekend and holiday diabetes calls? Do the CDCES, fellow's, endocrinologist, triage nurses (used for PCP or all specialties) take calls? Additionally, how do you handle new onsets on weekends and holidays? Do the diabetes educators perform new onset education on the weekends and holidays? Thank you!

Question:
Do your healthcare systems have an opt-in or opt-out option for research contact? For example, at our institution when a patient consents to treatment, they can also opt-in to be contacted for research. But I know some institutions have a policy where once you consent to treatment, you also consent to being contacted about eligible research studies (have to opt-out of being contacted). I am trying to get a sense of the landscape.

Question:
We are curious if other institutions are using concentrated insulin in insulin pumps. And if so, do you have an resources for the team/patients/families to minimize the risk for dosing errors.
