    QI Portal User Feature

    Name: Jeniece Ilkowitz

Site: Hassenfeld Children's Hospital at NYU

    Years with the T1DX-QI: 2.5

    1. What is your favorite feature in the Portal and why?

Having access to the data! It took us awhile to get mapped and even now we can’t see everything the reports will one day show us but it’s exciting to see the potential. It also is nice to see how far we’ve come with getting our data mapped and available.

    2. Practically speaking, which feature (in addition to the above) do you use most often and why?

I use the dashboard to check in on our data right now. It’s helping us to understand our data better, improve its quality and keep us motivated to continue all of our efforts to meet the recommended metrics. Eventually I think we will use the reports and population analysis the most as disparities are on our mind especially with our high risk populations.

    3. How does the Portal support your improvement efforts?

I am still learning about it but it but as I said before it’s helped us continue working on the quality of the mapped data as well as motivating us to keep working on all of our quality improvement initiatives

    4. What do you dream the portal could do that it doesn’t do currently?

I wish the QI portal had easily accessible/searchable database consisting only of editable handouts and flyers, forms, tip sheets, etc. that other sites used to create their programs and use for QI initiatives. For example – wellness program/high risk patient handouts, intake forms, surveys etc., transition program- handouts, insurance information, flyers, tip sheets, etc. and the list goes on. It should be second nature to all of us to make sure to share these items and to start with the portal when beginning a project. We all don’t need to reinvent the wheel!
