                  Years with the T1DX-QI: 3

                    1. What is your favorite feature in the QI Portal and why?

The Reports feature is by far my favorite because of the ability to analyze the date for specific measures. These simple charts help to clearly show our team where we are doing well and where can place more attention.

                      .

                    2. Practically speaking, which feature (in addition to the above) do you use most often and why?

Practical must equal efficient for me, so the Dashboard would have be what I use most often. It allows a quick glance of the clinic metrics and good reminder of direction of our progress. Looking forward to getting all our “arrows up”!

                    1. How does the QI Portal support your improvement efforts?

With a recent transition to a new EMR and large patient census, we did not have the capabilities that the QI portal offers. Now, with a couple clicks, I am able to show our team specific measures regarding our families with diabetes and ultimately improve their care.

                    2. What do you dream the QI Portal could do that it doesn’t do currently?

It would be nice to see more information about “Excluded Patients” and the top three data measures that excluded them. As a fairly new site, we are still working to fine tune our reporting. I also love the library; keep adding relevant articles as they arise.

Log into the portal today to view all the amazing benefits mentioned above!

                    Q&A Corner

There have been several newly asked questions on the internal member website. Please use this link to respond and see all questions.

                    New Questions:

                    Question:

Do your healthcare systems have an opt-in or opt-out option for research contact? For example, at our institution when a patient consents to treatment, they can also opt-in to be contacted for research. But I know some institutions have a policy where once you consent to treatment, you also consent to being contacted about eligible research studies (have to opt-out of being contacted). I am trying to get a sense of the landscape.

                    Question:

Does anyone have a pump and CGM policy they use for hospitalized patients with diabetes? Could they share their policy and EPIC orders?

                    Events & Reminders

                    Upcoming Opportunities

Here are a few opportunities shared with the Collaborative.

                    • Pediatric centers are invited to complete this survey by March 30, 2024 on your practice/program's structure, organization, volume, and services and the workload for different team members. The goal is to use this data to estimate the per patient costs of pediatric diabetes care. The accuracy of the data is critical for valid bundled costing and further advocacy for global payment reimbursement. We ask for one submission per center. A  $200 stipend in appreciation of your time.
