        User Feature

        Name: Carla Demeterco-Berggren, MD

Site: Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego

Years with the T1Dx QIC:  2 years

        1. What is your favorite feature in the Portal, and why?
The ability to closely follow our metrics using many of the features included in the Reports has helped our team to identify areas to focus for improvement. I really appreciate that we can look into equity and disparities within each metric which has helped us to focus on and integrate health equity into our diabetes management and QI projects.

         2. Practically speaking, which feature (in addition to the above) do you use most often and why?

“My Dashboard” is a fantastic feature which provides insight into the care provided within our clinic and across all sites. It is invaluable to be able to identify positive outliers so we can learn from each other’s achievements and grow together as a Collaborative.

        3. How does the Portal support your improvement efforts?
The Portal allows us to identify areas where we can improve and to check if those improvements we have achieved are being sustained. For example, it has helped us to track the positive results obtained from our QI projects on CGM use and on the Care Navigators Outreach, and prompted our clinic to start a QI project to increase insulin pump use among publicly insured patients.

        4. What do you dream the Portal could do that it doesn’t do currently?
The Portal allows us to periodically review and share results with our staff and leadership to motivate and engage all in our QI efforts. It would be very helpful to have a customizable, ready to print, one page report to facilitate sharing results.
