                      New Questions:

                      Question:

Has anyone started to use insulin pens in the hospital for new-onset education? We used to have them but the hospital banned them a few years ago (due to safety concerns on the adult side). We would like to ask for permission to use them in the Children’s Hospital again. Thanks!

                      Name: Mary Pat Gallagher, MD
Clinic: Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone

                      Question:

I am looking for a template letter for prior authorization to justify Fiasp. The response we got from insurance was that it does not improve glycemic outcomes relative to Humalog novolog. I need some sort of protest letter with citations. Please share if you have them.

                      Name: Joyce Lee, MD
                      Clinic: C.S Mott Children’s Hospital

                      Question:

Does your center have a process in place, documentation, or handouts to support the use of dilute insulin in very young/insulin sensitive patients? Any documents or experience related to this would be helpful as we update and improve our process. Thank you!

                      Question:

We are switching to EPIC next year and are currently building our flowsheets and figuring out who will receive access to different the features. The Reports access is being discussed currently and we wondering if other sites utilize this for QI work and who on their team has access to it. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

They are looking for clinic partners to participate in the program. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
