                  QI Portal User Feature

                  Christy Byer-Mendoza

                  1. What is your favorite feature in the QI Portal and why?

I like the reports section. It is important for us as a team to low at how are data is broken down by population analysis. This is important for us to see the breakdown by race, insurance, age, A1C, etc.

                  2. Practically speaking, which feature (in addition to the above) do you use most often and why?

I also really like the Library section. I was scrolling through and there were so many things that I wanted to catch up and read!!

                    1. How does the QI Portal support your improvement efforts?

[The Reports tab] allows us to visualize how we are doing in our clinic and what our focused efforts should be moving forward with our current projects. The QI portal supports all of the hard work our clinic and team does daily. It is a great visual tool to see our work all in one place.

                    2. What do you dream the QI Portal could do that it doesn’t do currently?

My dream is that we could store all of our projects and PDSA cycles in the portal! I believe this would be a great way for our whole team to utilize the portal on a regular basis.

                    Question:

Has anyone started to use insulin pens in the hospital for new-onset education? We used to have them but the hospital banned them a few years ago (due to safety concerns on the adult side). We would like to ask for permission to use them in the Children’s Hospital again. Thanks!

                    Name: Mary Pat Gallagher, MD
Clinic: Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone

                    Question:

I am looking for a template letter for prior authorization to justify Fiasp. The response we got from insurance was that it does not improve glycemic outcomes relative to Humalog novolog. I need some sort of protest letter with citations. Please share if you have them.

They are looking for clinic partners to participate in the program. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
